Paediatric Online Training
This Paediatric First Aid Training Course sets out to train participants on life saving skills in relation to children generally up to the age of 13. This course is designed to give participants, who have no previous experience of first aid with children, the required skills to deal with a first aid or medical emergency before professional help arrives.
Course Objectives
- Recognise and Assess the causes and effects of sudden illness and/or injury in a pre-hospital environment and call for emergency medical services.
- React to such pre-hospital emergencies.
- Respond in a safe, effective and appropriate manner to such emergencies utilising the First Aid skill set.
- Record and Report actions and interventions taken while responding to and managing such incidents
- Retain a professional and caring attitude in your performance as a First Aider.

Emergency First Aid Training
This Emergency First Aid training course is intended for those who wish to become competent in emergency first aid. The course covers practical skills. These skills are required to deal with First Aid emergencies.
Please note: this course is NOT a substitute for the PHECC 3 Day Occupational First Aid Course
Course Objective
- To provide attendees with the appropriate skills.
- These skills will allow the demonstrate practical first aid required in both routine and emergency situations.
Course Content
- Introduction – Chain of survival / Scene safety / Responsibilities of a first-aider
- Unconsciousness – Examination of unconscious subject / Recovery position
- Resuscitation – Practical demonstration and class practice
- Asphyxia / Heart attack – Approach and treatment
- Bleeding and wounds – Control of bleeding and wounds including amputation, wounds with a foreign body, internal bleeding
- Assessment of fractures and correct treatment
- Injuries – Examination of the eye / Treatment of foreign bodies / Chemical splashes in the eye
- Burns and scalds / Poisoning / Causes and treatments
- Epilepsy / Asthma / Crush injuries – Approach and treatment
